MICRO-ARTICOLI IN FIBRA #12 | PROMISE, the logic of relationships

february 9th, 2022

The project consists of 2 geometric sections that converge into a single structure. For example, a square section, into a semicircular section. The math functions drive the project in such a way that two sections converge becoming isomorphic, giving the idea of a joining diversity.  Otherness is the essence of the project. A true relationship is based on absolute diversity. On the one side of the ring diversity is represented by two different sections, which show propinquity rather than any community of intents. Along the circle diversity slowly disappears and togetherness takes place.

An object that responds to the difficulty of making diversity isomorphic, expresses the creative power of a relationship, which is a project and not an impulse driven by laws of logic and not by chance.

It is a ring that speaks of “We-intention”.

Traditionally, the meaning of the wedding band relates to a simple sign of union. Wearing the same symbol makes you part of the same project. Contemporary, PROMISE expresses the complex systematic nature of a relationship in the symbol itself. The laws of the universe refer to a rationality which is unfailing part of it.

Every solid relationship is not based on precious jewels, inlays, luminescent stones, heavy ornaments and useless forms of ostentation. Instead, the relationship finds its roots on an absolute yet simple logic.

 Keeping the promise.

The Universe does not flaunt anything.

Around the year 1000 the people of southern England merged with the Vikings. This is the reason why many English words actually have a Scandinavian origin. At love, in Danish and Norwegian, lovar in Swedish, do not mean to love but to promise. For love, for any form of love, there are no words, as in Mediterranean cultures. What truly counts, it’s the essence behind them: keeping the promise.

The simple gestures, the essential things are all that really matter: I will take care of you, I will share what I have with you, and if you are sick I will be there, wherever the things of life lead us, and even when the passion will be gone, love will stand as a promise.

This is what PROMISE means.

Rings to be handled with care, with everything inside and very little outside.

PROMISE comes in three basic models, each one made of two plane geometric figures:

PROMISE 01 circle and triangle

PROMISE 02 square and semi-circle

PROMISE 03 pentagon and a quarter circle
